The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. The original Galletto pattern was green and white in color. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. Each ceramic mug was handcrafted and painted by the artists of Labor Ceramiche in Deruta, Umbria, Italy. This mug is considered a medium. It is dishwasher safe.
This Galletto Green Mug is 3.5" in height and can hold 10 oz. Measurements are approximate.
