Deruta Galletto Green Large Mug
The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that originated in Orvieto in the 13th century. The original Galletto pattern was green and white in color, much like this mug. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern. The leaves were also modernized.
Along with being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This ceramic mug was handcrafted and hand-painted by the artists of Labor Ceramiche in Deruta, Umbria, Italy. It is dishwasher safe.
The Galletto Green Mug is 4.5″ in height. It can hold 16 oz. Measurements are approximate.
