Tuscan Montelupo Sugar
Bowl with Flight of Fancy
Flight of Fancy is one of the first patterns we imported from Italy. We loved the elegant, exotic bird in flight amongst the lovely, green leaves. This sugar bowl was hand-painted by master artisans at Tuscia in Montelupo Fiorentino, an Italian majolica center since the Renaissance.
We call this piece of Italian pottery a sugar bowl, but it could really be used as a little box for keepsakes or any spice. The leave motif does not wrap around to the back of the piece. It is a little under 4″ in height, and its measurements are approximate.
