Puglia 30″ Amphora
This amphora, or giara, is an anomoly in our selection, for it is at least 70 years old. It has a few scratches, the largest of which is on the mouth – please see one of the images for a closer look at it. The piece also varies in shade in color, and several of the images show this variation as well. Such scratches and changes in color are not considered to be flaws on this piece because of its very nature as an older, one might say “antique”, piece of Italian pottery. It was handcrafted in Grottaglie, Puglia, in Southern Italy.
It is approximately 30″ tall. The mouth is approximately 7″ in diameter.
