Deruta Galletto Green Tuscan Style Cream Pitcher

The Galletto pattern is a modified version of green and white ceramics that came from Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta became the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern. The leaves were also modernized.

As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune because of a legend about the Medici family from the 15th century. Crowing roosters alerted Giuliano de Medici to approaching hired assassins. This ceramic creamer was handcrafted and painted by artisans of Labor Deruta.

This Galletto Green Cream Pitcher is 3.5″ in height. It can hold 10 oz. Measurements are approximate.
