Deruta Galletto Green Cheese/Sugar Bowl with Spoon

The Galletto pattern is a modified version of green and white ceramics that came from the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta became the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern, and the leaves were modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune.

This ceramic sugar bowl was traditionally hand-painted by the artists of Labor Deruta. It is perfect for sugar, honey, grated cheese, jam, or any preserve. It is 3.5″ in height. Measurements are approximate.
