Deruta Galletto Green 8″ Olive Oil Bottle with Handle and “Olio”
There is a saying in Italy that to bring a rooster into the home is to bring good fortune. The Galletto pattern embraces this tradition. It is a pattern that originated in the Italian region of Umbria. Green was the original color. In fact, the rooster was added to the pattern after the leaves. Galletto is most commonly found in the ceramics town of Deruta. However, it is also associated with Orvieto. This bottle comes with a stainless steel spout and cap. It is perfect for olive oil. It has the Italian word for oil, “olio,” handwritten across the front. The bottle was hand-painted by artisans Sberna in Deruta.
It is approximately 8″ in height, including the spout. It can hold approximately 10 oz.
