Deruta Galletto Blue Sugar Bowl
The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This ceramic sugar bowl was hand-painted by the artists of Ceramiche Sberna in Deruta, Italy.
The Galletto Blue Sugar Bowl is approximately 4″ in height.
