Deruta Galletto Blue Pair of Salt and Pepper Shakers
The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This ceramic pair of salt and pepper shakers was handcrafted and painted by the artists Ceramiche Sberna in Deruta, Italy.
The Galletto Blue Salt and Pepper Shakers are 3″ in height.
