Tuscan ND Dolfi Nativity Scene Inkwell

Master artisans ND Dolfi were inspired by the work of Giovanni di Nicola di Manzoni when they made this piece. The artist Giovanni di Nicola di Manzoni was a Renaissance artist who created religious pieces such as nativity scenes that are now on view in museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England. If you search his name, you will see such maiolica pieces that he made in the early 1500s that look strikingly similar to this one. The writing on the piece, Verbum Charo, roughly translates to the Biblical scripture “And the word dwelt amongst us.”

This piece is 9″ in height and 8×8″ in length and width. Measurements are approximate.
