Tuscan Papavero 5.5X4″ Oval Dish
Papavero is the Italian word for poppy. Full fields of these flowers bloom in May in the Tuscan region, where this pitcher was handcrafted and hand-painted. This pattern celebrates the growing season with the poppies of May, and the wheat ready to harvest in August.
Marino handcrafted and hand-painted these pieces. He is a master of making ceramics. His talent and creativity have been passed on to his daughters, with whom he works in his studio in Montelupo Fiorentino, the center of majolica in Tuscany.
This small dish could be used for antipasti or as a dipping bowl. It is food safe. It would also make a lovely soap dish.
