Tuscan Foglia di Montelupo Blue 7.5″ Pitcher
This pitcher was handcrafted and hand-painted by the artisans of Tuscia. You see evidence of this in some images. It was handmade in Montelupo Fiorentino, a municipality of Florence in Tuscany.
From the end of the 13th century and throughout the Renaissance, the town was one of the most important ceramics production centers in all of Europe. It still is to this day. The Foglia, or “leaf,” is the oak leaf on many fragments of early ceramic objects found in archeological sites near Montelupo.
It is 7.5″ in height. It is 6.5″ in diameter. Measurements are approximate.
