Sicilian Enna 7″ Small Rooster Pitcher
Because of a legend of the Medici family in the 15th century in which crowing roosters alerted Giuliano de Medici to hired assassins approaching, rooster pitchers such as this one are considered to be providers of good luck and fortune. Lemons were brought to Sicily by the Arabs when they had colonized the island. Perfect for anyone who loves the color red, this rooster, or chicken, pitcher was handcrafted and hand-painted in Santo Stefano di Camastra, Sicily.
It is 7″ in height and can hold 14 oz. Measurements are approximate.
