Deruta Raffaellesco 19X13″ Scalloped Serving/Wall Platter

This large ceramic platter is a glorious example of handcrafted Italian pottery, with lines that have such an elegant curve. Inspired by the dragons on the frescoes painted by Renaissance artist Raphael, the pattern Raffaellesco originated in the late 16^th century in the town of Deruta in the Italian region of Umbria. This platter was handcrafted and hand-painted in Deruta, Umbria, Italy. It makes for wonderful wall decor when not in use at the table.
