Deruta Galletto Green 6″ Medium Cachepot Planter
The Galletto pattern is a modified version of a pattern that came from Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern. The leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This piece was handcrafted and painted by artisans Sberna in Deruta, Italy. The image shows the planter from the front.
