Deruta Galletto Blue Antipastiera with Handle
Galletto is a modified version of a pattern that came out of the Umbrian town of Orvieto in the 13th century. In the 19th century, centuries after Deruta had become the center of Umbrian ceramics, a rooster was added to the pattern and the leaves were also modernized. As well as being a lovely addition to the pattern, the rooster is said to bring good fortune to the home. This ceramic piece traditionally used for serving antipasti was hand-painted by Labor Deruta in the classical fashion.
The Galletto Blue Antipastiera with Handle is 4″ in height and 10″ by 10″ in length and width.
