Deruta Arabesco Green 10″ Large Rooster Pitcher
Arabesco is a widely popular ceramic pattern from the town of Deruta in the Italian region of Umbria. Because of a legend about the Medici family in the 15th century in which crowing roosters alerted Giuliano de Medici to hired assassins approaching, rooster pitchers like these are considered good fortune providers. This ceramic rooster or chicken pitcher was handcrafted and painted by the artists Sberna in the town of Deruta.
